Today all over Canada was day of mass protests for stronger and decisive actions to prevent further damage to Earth’s climate. The main even was held in Montreal, attended by Justin Trudeau, Canadian PM and Elizabeth May from Green Party. The special guest was famous young girl from Sweden – Greta Thunberg, who does not hesitate to chastise powerful world leaders every time she gets a chance. Trudeau met with Greta before the march and commented that “She is the voice of a generation of young people who are calling on their leaders to do more and to do better, and I’m listening”. Jugmeet Singh form NDP joined the protest in Victoria, BC. As expected, yet totally inexcusable, Andrew Scheer decided to fully ignore the marches and protest of millions of Canadians today. Considering his record and his ‘environmental’ policies – perhaps for the best … . Still sad, though, that he refuses to face the most existential threat to our planet. And at the same time has the desire to be our Prime Minister ?!
Below is a photo galleries I took from the protest in Halifax. Tens of thousands of people gathered in Victoria Park here (as luck would want – the park is located just across the street from the broken huge construction crane during this month hurricane Dorian assault on the city). Later they marched to Nova Scotia Power to perform a ‘die-in’ in front of the center of Nova Scotia’s energy. From there to Government Building, to impress on our politicians to do their job and listen to the science, not to the lobbyists.
